Ever since March 12th, sports fans have been without live sports to keep our head off the terrible things this world has to offer. Since then, sports fans and human beings have had to resorted to event replays which is nowhere near enough the adrenaline rush that comes with live sports. Although the general health of the people is way more important than any fight or ballgame, Major League Baseball has been creative with their initiatives to return to the baseball diamond.
One way the league could potentially return to action is by having the games played out of their respective spring training facilities, located in the states of Arizona and Florida respectively. As a result of this, the divisions will be the typical NL East or AL West, the divisions would be formed by which teams are closer in geographical location. The National and American leagues will be replaced with the Grapefruit and Cactus league, the orginal names of the Spring Training divisions. If this were to happen, these are the proposed divisions for the 2020 season.
GRAPEFRUIT LEAGUE
NORTH: New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies, Toronto Blue Jays, Detroit Tigers, Pittsburgh Pirates
SOUTH: Boston Red Sox, Minnesota Twins, Atlanta Braves, Tampa Bay Rays, Baltimore Orioles.
EAST: Washington Nationals, Houston Astros, New York Mets, St. Louis Cardinals, Miami Marlins

CACTUS LEAGUE
NORTHEAST: Chicago Cubs, San Fransisco Giants, Arizona Diamondbacks, Colorado Rockies, Oakland Athletics.
WEST: Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago White Sox, San Diego Padres, Seattle Mariners, Kansas City Royals.

If this were to take place under these divisions, it would be nothing like we have never seen before. However, it will be very interesting to see how these teams would match up against each other and you would get to see a lot more inter league matchups than ever before which could bring some excitement to the game. The MLB has had struggles with advertising its stars and its products, so maybe widespread change like this, although under unique circumstances could bring the league a much-needed breath of fresh air. What do you think about this proposal? Which in division match ups do you want to see? Let me know in the comments section.
